Real Wedding: Canton, Ohio

Emily and Seth had a beautifully simple summer wedding, with a lighthearted vibe. The bridesmaids wore strapless navy dresses and the groomsmen matched with preppy striped ties. I love the parasol photos, and their cake looks effortless and yet so tasty! {All photos by the talented Salvatori Photography}

Bridal Session Inspiraton

Lauren was married the week prior to this shoot, but because there wasn't ample time during their wedding day for photographer Kevin Keefer to capture a lot of couple and bridal portraits, they opted for another session after the wedding. When the time came, her new husband Aaron was called away unexpectedly which left Lauren with a bridal portrait session of her own. Kevin later called the shoot "For Aaron" which I think is so sweet. Lauren looks lovely in her Jenny Packham dress, and what a beautiful keepsake she has now!

Sponsored Giveaway: Williams-Sonoma

When I get a Williams-Sonoma catalog in the mail, I have to admit to pouring through the pages like it’s a novel. They come up with the most creative gadgets, I tell you! And I love that dispersed through all of their products (both in the catalog and on their website) they share some really tasty recipes. I can lose hours browsing through all the content.

So I am really excited to tell you that Williams-Sonoma is offering up a $150 gift card to one of you! I’ve shared some of my wish list items above that I am certainly asking Santa for this year, but I would love to hear what kind of loot you would buy with your gift certificate.

To enter the contest, just follow these steps:

1. Register with Williams-Sonoma, if you don’t already have a registry.
2. Come back and leave a comment letting me know you’ve registered, and what your favorite item is on your list.
3. If you include a link to your public registry, you will receive an extra entry.

You have until midnight (CST) on Thursday, September 2nd to create your registry and enter to win. Please just be sure to leave an email address or a way I can get a hold of you! I will announce the winner here on Friday, September 3rd. Good luck!

Quick Palette: Lavender and Teal

I actually snapped this image out on a walk early this summer, and I still love this lone purple bloom in front of the teal window. I have no idea what type of flower that is, but if any of you know please fill me in!

Oh my - these are some of the sweetest cakes I have ever seen! The first one (my favorite) pictured above was for an engagement party. The little flowers and the heart balloon are simply adorable! And the lovely little table below is almost too cute to eat...almost. All of these amazing creations are from Scissors.Paper.Cake, a creative little boutique in Australia where you can buy your stationery and your sweets all in one place. You should also check out Naomi's blog to see some more pictures of her confectionery creations!

Real Wedding on a Budget: Cambridge, Massachusetts

You all responded so favorably to the "budget" wedding a few weeks ago, I thought you would also enjoy Kathy & Brian's Cambridge nuptials. After deciding on a bold yellow and blue color palette, the bride's Mom assembled all of the flowers and took care of most of the decor. Kathy's Mom also assembled a book of traditional family recipes she wanted to pass down to the bride and groom, and had them printed with personalized bookmarks for each guest! Such a unique and sentimental favor, and definitely something the guests will use after the wedding.

Wooden Table Numbers

When I found these ash wood table numbers on The White Aisle, I was instantly planning my own wedding again in my head. Aren't they lovely? They are each printed in cocoa colored ink and are double sided, so they can be seen from all angles. And of course, pairing them with hydrangeas and burlap is perfection. {P.S. Go check out the pricing - they are much more affordable than I imagined}

Real Wedding: Seattle, Washington

I really love the whimsical feeling surrounding Anne and Ethan's Seattle wedding, and especially adore their color palette! The green and white blooms in Anne's bouquet are so lovely, and the mix of bridesmaids blooms are just stunning. After their outdoor ceremony at The Woodland Park Zoo's rose garden, Anne changed into a flapper dress to kick up her heels at the ceremony. So fun!
