Bridal Shower Ideas

This the first shower I've posted on the blog, but I know a lot of you are looking for ideas so this seems like a great way to share. Plus, its an adorable event featuring my favorite color! Ashley's shower was filled with an adorable sweets table (complete with cake pops), recipe suggestions, a book filled with advice for the couple and some really great favors.

The clothespins you see below are a great idea for a game (because I dread most wedding shower games). At the beginning of the day, everyone had a clothespin with their name on it. The game was that you can't say bride, groom, cake or gown. If someone is caught they have to give up their pin. The person with the most at the end wins! Thanks to Monica of Monica Z Wedding Photography for sending over all the pictures - and congrats to Ashley and Brent!

I really love the "advice and well wishes" binder and the recipe cards bowl. Showers used to be much more about women bestowing wisdom on the new bride and that shouldn't change. Moms, grandmas, aunts, & friends have so much to share! One idea would even be to have tabs in the binder so advice could be given on topics like "best ways to celebrate our anniversary" "best advice for the homestead" "best ways to keep the love spark" "best ways to say sorry" etc. I think some really neat words would come from guests!

These are fantastic! I'm not a fan of shower games, but love the clothes pin and other little tid bits (recipe cards, etc.).
