Engagement Picture Attire

We're having our engagement pictures taken in 3 weeks, which is a huge "holy s@#$!!" in my world. We scheduled the session with our photographers back in February when June seemed like such a long time away...and here we are. How is it possible that it's June?! I digress. When I looked at my calendar last week and realized the pics were fast approaching, I also realized I have nothing to wear. But I did have a jcrew gift card in my wallet...

I love the picture above, minus the rolled up/holey jeans. Its casual but still looks put together. However, that mustard yellow color and I do not get along. A little more hunting and I found this:A little hard to tell, but its a silver-ish pewter color. I am planning on wearing it with jeans and either a black or navy blue Jackie cardigan over it, just like the picture:Hi, I am Darci, and I steal complete outfit ideas from jcrew. But, oh how I love the Jackie cardigan. They're super soft and have 3/4 length sleeves, perfect for spring. And with the neutral color palette it will be easy for Brad to pick a coordinating shirt. But wait, a person can't have just one outfit for engagement pictures! I continued to hit the jcrew sale hard and found this: Also 3/4 sleeves, which I think might actually look cute with folded up jeans (to make it more summery) and these shoes:I know that sometimes bright colors show up great in pictures, but I am a neutral girl (aside from the bright green shirts I sport every now and again). My goal is to just look like "us" and try to relax in front of the camera a little. Thoughts? What did you wear/plan to wear for your engagement pictures?

It's time for me to start thinking about my engagement photo outfits as well. I only have a month to go! I think your outfit choices are smart because it is going to be hard for them to look dated. I like the idea of browsing catalogs and finding inspiration from there.

We did navy, and I think the pics turned out well! I wore a navy 3/4-length sleeve jacket similar to your #2 option over a cream colored shirt (all from Ann Taylor). My second option was the same shirt but with a navy shrug sweater (Ann Taylor LOFT). I wore both with jeans and navy heals. My fiance wore jeans and a navy Lacoste polo.

I wore dark jeans and a turquoise top. Michael wore lighter jeans and a navy top. They came out great! I wouldn't worry about the neutral top too much, especially if you're planning on wearing the navy sweater. You'll pop!

great look for an e-session. i do love the jackie cardigan! and i tend to agree that basics and comfy outfits are best for the engagement photos...

i wore a black {elbow length sleeves} sweater, jeans, and plaid shoes that I love... so pretty much my normal look!
